Residents in Chorley and South Ribble who meet one or more of the criteria below are eligible to receive support to help improve the security and safety of their home;
- Victim of Burglary/Theft
- Have a Long Term Health Condition
- 65 Years or Older
- Receive an Assisted Bin Collection
Simple home adaptations such as door chains, window bolts, timer lights and glass alarms are available and will be installed by the local home improvement agency.
Also available through the scheme is a free 1 month trial of the Lifeline and Bogus Callers service provided by Progress Housing.
How much will it cost?
All security equipment and adaptations are provided FREE.
There may however be a charge for installation at a rate of £15 per hour, payable directly to Preston Care and Repair on the day. You will be told in advance of any charges and are free to withdraw at anytime prior to any work being carried out.
If you are in receipt of Benefits, and or classified as vulnerable you may not be charged for installation. You will be told before any work is undertaken whether you qualify for assistance.
When can you expect to hear from us?
When a referral has been made, it will be sent to your local council, who may contact you for some further information. The referral should be passed on to our partner organisation within 5 working days and you will hear from them within a further 2 working days to make an appointment.
